The Institution Theater presents "LIVE TV"

This spring, the PIP is working coopertively with The Institution Theater's "Live TV" show to bring you their production of "Angel", specifically, the "Smile Time" episode where Angel is afflicted by a "puppet curse" that turns him into a puppet!

"OFF THE REEF"

In twenty twelve, the PIP (Puppet Improv Project) lights up the stage with a spectacular undersea adventure. The cast and crew will bring to life a myriad of fish and sea creatures to tell a colorful tale based on audience suggestions!

In our show, the hero begins his or her story trying to deal with an everyday problem. As sometimes happens in our own world, that insignificant problem escalates into one of epic proportions, leading our hero through the adventure of a lifetime! Using the magic of black-light puppetry, this production literally GLOWS with color, light, and magic! Due to the dark lighting, a late show time, and general puppet anarchy, this show will be rated PG.

Look for this, our most elaborate show, to surface this coming FALL 2012!

"TRASH"

In 2013, the PIP willl be creating an eco-friendly story about TRASH using foam-fleece, object theater, body and rhythm puppets. This show is being tagged as our 2012 "experimental" show -- and we will be looking for opportunities to put up parts of the show around town so we can explore new techniques and technologies for the company. We promise this show will include something you haven't seen PIP do before -- something NEW!

Look for "sneak peeks" at our "TRASH" show around Austin this year as it evolves into the monster show it will be in 2013!
